‘Uri’ Box Office: Vicky Kaushal-Starrer Earns Rs 20 Crore

Uri: The Surgical Strike opened to mostly positive reviews on 11 January and, according to trade analyst Taran Adarsh, got a “flying start” at the box office. The military drama earned Rs 20.63 crore in two days and is expected to continue to do well over the weekend.

Vicky Kaushal’s performance in the film in particular has been praised. According to The Quint’s Stutee Ghosh Kaushal, in his “all guns blazing avatar, plays his role with exactly the right amount of vigour and vulnerability”.

The film is based on the retaliatory surgical strikes carried out by the Indian army in POK in 2016. It has been directed by Aditya Dhar and stars Vicky Kaushal, Yami Gautam, Paresh Rawal and Mohit Raina.
